Happy New Year Fantabulous Friends! I cannot believe that 2018 is here, and am wondering where 2017 went. I am afraid I ask that question every year, as it seems as I get older the faster time moves. The new year promises to be a busy one with 2 graduations (my daughter and my fiance’s daughter) a wedding and moving the new graduates to college. So instead of being stressed and worried about the new year, today I want to share with you how the 6 style bloggers do sweater dresses for December. I have to admit that this is one of my favorite posts of the month because my friends have such amazing style. In true confession, I should have had this post out last month but with the holidays time got away from me. However, better late than never!
Gabby
I love the color of Gabby’s sweater dress, the purple is absolutely gorgeous. The short sleeves are perfect for the warmer climate she lives in yet it still gives off a winter vibe. Also, the necklace looks so stunning with her dress.
This dress has me thinking it would be perfect to wear to any New Years Eve parties you have coming up or for a date night with your honey. To learn more about Gabby’s dress check out her post at Gift of Gabby.
Chelsea
How fun is this look Chelsea put together? I love her moto jacket and have been wanting to add one to my closet this winter. After seeing Chelsea’s this is a must-have for my closet soon! To learn more about Chelsea’s outfit check out her post at Rosy Point of View.
Dominique
Dominique sweater dress looks so cozy and comfy. I especially love how the headband completes the look. Oh, I wish that I could pull off headbands but I cannot because they never stay on my head. To learn more about Dominique’s thoughts about her look you can check out her post at A Petite Flower
Oendrila
Oendrila went with a traditional look for the outfit as they don’t really wear sweater dresses in India because the weather is much warmer there. I know I won’t be able to do the description justice so here it is in Oendrila’s own words.
India being a really warm place, we don’t commonly get sweater-dresses here. I found waterfall shirt-dresses, as well as the expensive cashmere suits and their inexpensive nylon versions, which are Indian Anarkali suits, i.e. long-length empire-cut tunics, worn with leggings.
So, I decided to go full on Indian ethnic, and wore our own version of a dress – a two-piece “lehenga” gown. This number by Karuna Deora is made of handloom silk, with an incredible texture unexpected thickness. The volume comes from the thick lining and net frame beneath all the opulence. Altogether, it not only gives me a royal look, but keeps me warm while doing so!
Kamalika
I would like to introduce you to our newest member of the 6 style bloggers, Kamalika! She is a friend of Oendrila and has joined us to provide us more of their unique and amazing style from India. For this month Kamalika is wearing a cute lightweight dress that is perfect for the warmer temps in India. I have to say though I am in love with her booties! You can check out more about Kamalika’s style at the solitary aesthete.
Jody (aka me!)
I have had my eye on this cold shoulder dress from Francesca’s for a while now, so this post just gave me the perfect reason to buy it. In fact, true confession time, I did not have a sweater dress in my closet prior to this one. I also should say, I am really enjoying the cold shoulder trend right now and am buying all the cold shoulder tops and dresses currently. If anyone has a favorite that I must have, please let me know so I can check it out!
Unfortunately, this dress is no longer available but I did find a similar one here. I debated on what I wanted to cover my legs with because it is coooooold here in Iowa and landed on some black tights that were perfect for the dress. And last but not least my favorite ankle booties which I have linked a similar pair here.
Final Thoughts
I hope that everyone had a fantabulous holiday, and brought in the new year with your loved ones and friends. I ended up spending the evening with my pups and true to form I was in bed before 10 PM.
Smiles,
Jody
