This may or may not be blog worthy but I was recently asked the following question on a work phone call which has me wondering how others would answer. The question was what is your favorite material thing that you currently own?
What do I say?
Oh my gosh, after the question was asked, my mind started working in overdrive, what do I say? The people which are on the other line are people I work with on a regular basis and I didn’t want them to think badly of me based on my decision (i.e. too materialistic). So do I go with the obvious answer that most people might say….their smartphone? While I am the first to admit that I might go a tiny bit crazy each time a new iPhone is released, I really don’t feel that it is my favorite material item.
As I sit there and think I can feel the panic start to set in as the facilitator of the call starts asking for volunteers to share. No one is speaking up, maybe they are having the same panicky thoughts as I am.
I cannot believe it took me 5 minutes, which I might add felt like 5 years, to come up with something but I finally did. I mean it is supposed to be my favorite thing so why was it so hard to think of one. What I decided is that my car is my favorite material item. I absolutely love my Ford Fusion which I bought a little over a year ago.
Now that you know my car is my favorite thing, I can share a little-known secret about me, I love cars. Especially muscle cars, find me an old Camaro, Mustang or Chevelle and I will be in awe. I love the way old muscle cars sound and smell. Weird I know, but hey what can I say.
Now old cars are not an everyday sight but I am not picky I also like any newer car that has a sportier look. Which do I think my Fusion does, however, I may be biased.
When I was car shopping I knew I wanted a Fusion, in black, with black rims, a sunroof and fog lights. We went to every car dealership in town and found lots of Fusions but none with the specs I wanted until the very last place. I knew the second I saw it that the car would be mine. What I didn’t know was how much I would love the car after I bought it.
If you are in the market for a 4 door sedan check out the Ford Fusions you won’t be disappointed.
Now I want to know, what is YOUR favorite material item that you own? This is a no judge zone so anything goes, share away!
