I will be the first to admit that this winter has been a long one, or at least it feels that way. Maybe it is because the last couple of years we haven’t had a real winter. This year we have and the effects of it are apparent on me, I have been in a funk and have not accomplished anything in about a month. Because of that, I want to apologize to everyone for being absent from my blog. But this post is going to change all that, or at least I hope. For that reason, I am thankful for my collaboration with my other style blogger friends to get me back to writing and posting on my blog. So let’s talk about how the six style bloggers try velvet for February.
February is the months for romance, aka Valentine’s Day, and what could be more romantic than velvet. Well, maybe chocolate, strawberries or flowers. I don’t wear a lot of velvet, I almost feel it is too dressy for me, especially since I tend to dress more casually. I know these ladies knocked this month’s collab out of the park so let’s take a look!
Jody (aka me!)
If you follow my blog you may see that I previously used this picture before, but I will admit I loved this velvet top. Unfortunately, I did not keep it though and sent it back to Stitch Fix. I honestly don’t have a huge need for dressier items and thought I should save my dollars for something more fun like shoes! A girl just cannot have enough shoes. Okay, back to this gorgeous velvet shirt, it would be perfect for a dressier date night with your Valentine or even for work if your office is not freezing. The sheer sleeves do not make this shirt very practical for cooler winter months here in Iowa. I paired it with a pair of burgundy skinnies and black booties to complete the dressy/casual look I was going for.
The girls!
This month I am going to try something different, instead of me babbling on about the other style blogger outfits, this month I am going to give you a sneak pic at the outfit they chose and the link to their blog. I really want you to visit their blog and see why they chose the velvet outfit they did. Trust me you will enjoy their take on the outfit more than you will enjoy mine. (LOL) So here we go…..

Final Thoughts
I am really excited about the new members who have joined us this month and would love it if you went to their blogs to find out more about them and their style. Thank you for going along with my new format for this month’s style, and I can’t wait to share with you what we have in store for March.
Smiles,
Jody
