Let’s start this by looking back to March of this year. One morning while getting ready for work I had a dilemma, I had nothing in my closet to wear. The winter was starting to fade away and the days were getting a little warmer and to be honest, I was tired of wearing sweaters. Because of this “problem”, I decided I needed to update my wardrobe but couldn’t find anything locally that I liked or fit my age. This caused me to turn to the internet for ideas and I stumbled upon the clothing subscription boxes which I have been blogging a lot about lately, but actually, I am ready to do something new. That something is a new collaboration with 5 other beautiful fantabulous bloggers forming the Six Bloggers Style group.
When I saw this opportunity to partner with these lovely ladies I knew this was just what I was looking for, but let’s just ignore the fact that I am the old lady of the bunch. The premise of this collaboration is each month we will decide on a fashion trend and each of us will style the item in our own way. We share our pictures and we each write an individual post with everyone’s style. This first month we chose to style a floral sundress and I have to say it was fun to see everyone’s photos.
So without further delay, let’s meet the ladies of the Six Blogger Style group.
Gabby at Gift of Gabby
Gabby is the amazing person that brought us all together for this fantastic collaboration. She also has an awesome lifestyle and personal blog, Gift of Gabby, where she shares outfits, product reviews, beauty ideas and more.
I find it hard to describe my personal style because I don’t like to feel bound by labeling my style as “bohemian”, “vintage”, or “punk”. I have days where I like to be each of these things and more! Sometimes I think it’s fun to treat each day brand new and dress however you want.
I love Gabby’s outlook on her style and couldn’t agree more and I love the dress she chose. I may be a little biased as sunflowers are one of my favorites. Gabby shares her thoughts on her sundress at Six Blogger Style//How to Wear a Floral Dress
Chelsea at Rosy Point of View
Meet Chelsea she has a lifestyle blog, Rosy Point of View, with a focus on style, self-care, and where ever else her life takes her. How fitting is the bunch of flowers she is holding in her picture?
I tend to live in sundresses in the summer, but I love that this one is a little different with a dark black background. The black background means I can take this fun summer dress into my fall wardrobe too by pairing it with blazers, tights, or sweaters! I decided to photograph it out in the “wild” on a fun summer Saturday morning at our farmers market since I felt fun and fresh in my big hat and floral sundress. I tend to pair this dress with sandals or flats since it is a little on the short side but I could easily dress it up with some heels if I wanted to be more sassy with it!
Chelsea looks amazing in her sundress and I love how she plans on transitioning it into fall by pairing it with a couple of warmer clothing items. Chelsea shares her thoughts about her sundress at Six Unique Bloggers, One Tempting Trend: Floral Sundress Edition
Lauren at Mothering Honestly
Next up is Lauren, she blogs mostly about stories of Motherhood, product reviews, coupons and whatever else she may feel like writing about that day at Mothering Honestly.
It’s hard to describe my personal style right now because I totally fit into the category of “momwear”. I want to wear whatever is comfortable that day, and most of the time that consists of comfortable workout clothes and nursing friendly dresses.
I liked this dress because I thought the pattern was cute and I love black and white clothing! It felt good to take the opportunity to actually put a little bit of makeup on and style my hair a little! It’s so hard to find the time anymore!
Oh, how I remember the days of having little ones in the house and barely having time to brush my teeth let alone dress up. This dress looks amazing on Lauren and I love the open back. Find out more about Lauren’s sundress style on her blog at August Sun Dress
Oendrila at Just-OD-Things
Oendrila has a lifestyle blog, Just-OD-Things, where she talks about fashion, food and her journeys. She is also the only blogger who is not from the US, which means I cannot wait to see how she styles future items.
In this outfit, I have turned an Anarkali suit into a dress. An Anarkali suit is commonly worn by women in of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. It has the shape of a frock, and looks almost like an empire waist dress, except, it is worn with a pair of leggings (as shown in one of my snaps). This anarkali suit has a more contemporary look. It is made of light cotton, with a refreshing floral print all across. Even its skirt portion is quite different from a traditional anarkali; it gathers on the sides, creates an uneven hemline because of the rectangular shape, and forms those lovely ruffles. Its print, cut and length made it easy for me to convert it into a sleeveless sundress, made of a fabric that lets me breath.
I love the colors in this dress and think Oendrila looks gorgeous. I also really loved how she changed the Anarkali suit into a dress, I would have never guessed that it was anything but a dress. Rosy at Radiantly Rosy
Now meet Rosy, she has a lifestyle blog, Radiantly Rosy, which is dedicated to all women and all things fashion.
My style can be defined as less is more. I think this dress is flirty and fun and super for summer.
I can agree with Rosy 100% when she says “less is more” when it comes to style. Rosy’s off the shoulder sundress is adorable and has been one of my favorite fashion trends this summer. She definitely picked a winner in my book. To learn more about Rosy’s sundress style you can find it at Radiantly Rosy.
Jody at It’s Fantabulous
I will be honest when we chose the floral sundress I didn’t really have anything in my closet that fit the bill. That just gave me a reason to go online shopping, yay! I searched high and low for a dress that I liked but wasn’t a lot of money. Surprisingly, I found this one on Amazon. I was cautious at first because I have not always had the best luck with clothes from Amazon, but this one was perfect. I didn’t over do it with accessories but put on a simple necklace and paired with a pair of casual sandals. I also plan on wearing this to an upcoming beach trip, I think it will be perfect as a swimsuit coverup.
This collaboration is so much fun and I can’t wait to see what we pick for September. These ladies are fantastic to work with and their blogs are amazing. Be sure to check everyone’s August Sundress posts out as I have included their links above.
I would love to hear you think about our collaboration? Which sundress is your favorite? Any suggestions on styles for upcoming months?
